Jake was indispensable to my team.

He led product design on a big, high-stakes launch and kept it on track while timelines shifted and feedback wasn’t straightforward. He stayed decisive throughout and the work shipped on time with high quality.

What I’ll remember most is how he treated the team. When someone was overwhelmed or didn’t have clear direction, Jake was the person they went to. When overtime requests became unsustainable, he asked for help and pushed back. People felt heard. He’s easy to talk to and his feedback is to the point and useful.

He also took over our Jira setup and turned it into something the whole team could actually use.

He gave me back time and was a force multiplier on quality, which is why I made him our capability lead for Product Design. I’d hire him again without hesitation.

On the hunt for a web designer, I was referred to Jake by a friend who assured me Jake could “literally make anything.” She wasn’t exaggerating! We came to Jake with big ideas and a tight timeline, and he delivered a site that was the most refined, gorgeous, and user-friendly version of our concept we could have hoped for. Jake had the flexibility to follow specific direction when we were clear on what we wanted, and intelligently fill in the gaps when we weren’t. From the initial brief to the final tweaks, the whole process was smooth and genuinely collaborative. It helps that Jake is a wonderful human and excellent communicator, in addition to being a great designer. He has an impeccable sense of aesthetics and functionality, and his easy humour made the whole process a delight. It’s almost a shame the site he built is engineered for such longevity, because I can’t wait to work with him again!

Jake is one of the brightest minds I have had the opportunity to work with. So much that my wife and I often stack up other creatives on the "Jake scale", where Jake represents the 10/10. His creative process is intriguing to be a part of. It's like watching a comedian where I find myself wondering "how does someone think that way". Outside the box thinking would be a good way to describe Jake. He is one step ahead of the curve with social, digital media and design. Beyond that, positivity is king when you're working with him, and it's always a great process!

Jake is an actual super-human. I worked with Jake on many demanding projects for clients like Bell Canada and P&G, and he delivers amazing, exceptional, thoughtful work - every time. His humour and positive energy make working in a sometimes chaotic industry - a joy. He's a brilliant mind, and always goes above and beyond.

Jake is a tireless worker with a keen eye for film and photography. There are no challenges too small or too big for him and at the office it’s nice to have him around to bounce ideas around with and have fun and fascinating discussions on any topic. I would highly recommend Jake to any position both as a colleague and as a professional.
